Where are they now?

Georgia's Story

Georgia became an apprentice at RNS Accountants in Scunthorpe studying Business Administration at Level 2 with CERT in 2017. After completing and achieving her Level 2 apprenticeship she progressed onto the Business Administrator Standard apprenticeship at Level 3 passing her End Point Assessment in January 2021. We caught up with Georgia 18 months later to see what she is doing now.

Georgia, after you finished your apprenticeship what did you do next?

After I finished my apprenticeship I continued to work at RNS as a receptionist until I was offered a role where I could further expand my knowledge and skills with a new company.

My apprenticeship provided me with fundamental customer service skills and the understanding of customers needs and how to deal with these.

I have utilised these skills within my new role and have been with the company now for nine months, learning new skills and knowledge alongside a hands-on role keeping both my mind and myself busy.

What is your current job?

I am currently the Aftersales Manager for a vehicle conversion company.

What does your new role involve?

My daily working routine varies from week to week, one of the main aspects of my role is vehicle co-ordination and team management. I plan our engineers day-to-day jobs to ensure our customers' vehicles are safe and working as they should.

I register all incoming vehicles on-site before conversions giving them a full quality check to ensure that they’re in pristine condition. I also ensure all vehicles already in-use are also in pristine condition.

Customer Care is an essential part of my job, ensuring our customers receive the best possible service is my main priority.

What is your typical day like?

A typical day starts at 7:30am, I ensure all our engineers have everything they need to start their day repairing vehicles across the country.

As well as organising the team, I have meetings and daily customer calls to ensure all customers are happy and that their vehicles are working as they should.

Diary planning and time management play a huge part in my role ensuring that the team can work as efficiently as possible.

Thinking back to the goals that you had at the start of your apprenticeship, where are you at now with your goals ?

When I think back to the start of my apprenticeship I wanted more confidence and to find my voice.

With CERT I found that the support I received was incredible and I finally

feel confident in my work, knowledge and life.

One of my first goals was to learn to drive and then within five years I

wanted to own my own home.

I can happily say I have been driving three years and I have been a

home owner for the past seven months, all in less than five years.

I feel without the support I received from CERT, especially from the lovely

Chris Mason I wouldn’t have the confidence that I have today.

A truly incredible team and company who will support you always.
