​The Fundraiser apprenticeship is an excellent learning pathway to a career in the Charitable, Social Enterprise and Third Sector. As part of a fundraising team you will develop transferable higher level skills such as excellent oral and written communication, the ability to communicate persuasively and a keen focus that underpins so many roles to launch you into a wide range of career areas within the social enterprise, charitable, voluntary and community sector.

The purpose of the fund raiser's role is to generate fundraising income and support for their organisation to support the charitable, social or environmental causes of the organisation.

 

Funding is raised from a range of sources including trusts and foundations, digital media, corporate donors, individuals donations, raffles and lotteries, payroll giving, events, community engagement, gift aid and legacies.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Build and maintain relationships to acquire new supporters and retain existing ones

  • Secure funding and raise awareness of their social and charitable cause

  • Manage a portfolio of external stakeholders including supporters, volunteers, corporate partners and sponsors

  • Contribute towards the management of suppliers

  • Maintaining a database of supporters

  • Conduct research and analyse data in order to gain valuable insights for strategic planning

  • Develop and deliver fundraising plans 

  • Develop creative content to engage supporters

  • Promote fundraising and innovate new ideas

  • Compliance with Fundraising and Data Protection regulations

  • Addressing and solving problems within their role

  • Sales activities identified in fundraising plans

What Will I Get?

After completing your 21 month apprenticeship training with CERT and successfully passing your End Point Assessment you will be awarded the  Fundraiser Standard and have experience of working in a  Third Sector organisation.

If you have no previous experience in fundraising, this pathway will equip you with the underpinning knowledge and practical experience that will enable you to progress your careers into a permanent Fundraiser role which is highly sought after nationally and can reap you a high salary and rewarding career delivering impact in the world.
